GUI Station Launched!

I know… I disappeared for a long time. I’ve been a busy dude, that’s for sure. But that’s for another post. Right now, I wanted to let you know that I FINALLY sat down last Monday and started work on GUI Station. If you don’t know what that is, well it’s a community forum that focuses on Graphical User Interface design and development. If you knew me from Interface University.com, it’s similar to that, only it’s 100% completely in my hands now, no mess

Yes, unfortunately, I am no longer accepting work related to graphics. I’ve had lots of realization time this past week, and this just isn’t where my heart is anymore. To be honest, it never was. I’m a musical guy at heart, always have been. So, I have an idea.

November client projects

This site is certainly proving to be useful! I have had quite quite a few job offers this month, most of which have been through viewing my site and portfolio. So before I continue, I just want to say thank you all for your support and offering me your projects. It means a lot to me

Alright, I thought I would share 2 of my current projects with you. First is for a company called Finer Ribbon who produce various ribbon materials and products and also have the option to personalize your order. See ww.finerribbon.com for more details. I got asked to create a large flash ad banner for their company along with a payment methods banner for their site. The flash banner is turning out to be a challenge as I haven’t touched flash in quite some time. But the concept is coming along nicely.

All WP validation errors now fixed

Ever since I launched the site, there has been literally hundreds of errors showing up in xhtml validation. I found this strange and frustrating as I do usually code to standards without thinking too much about it. So these errors were really starting to tick me off, not to mention make me look like I n00b when somebody validated my pages. But I found a solution!

It turns out that Wordpress has a built in function that auto adds/removes html tags, particularly paragraph tags, regardless of wether you have WYSIWYG enabled or not. So with a bit of research, I stumbled accross an unofficial plugin that gives you the option to disable auto tagging. And it works like a charm!

The plugin was created by Alex King and is called WP Unformatted. You can download it from this page:

Shop NOW OPEN

Yay! I finally made my shop!

Sorry for the long wait, if you have been waiting that is. I’ve been getting a lot of traffic recently and I wish I had it up sooner! But I guess today is better than tomorrow hehe. So what’s available to buy? Read on!

All of the products are complete PSD’s of my interfaces. I don’t have every one up for sale, but the ones that are, are the most popular. So if you have seen something you liked in my portfolio, chances are, you’ll find it in the shop. I guess the kind of person that would buy would be either interested in how particular interface elements are created or perhaps somebody who is wanting to code a new winamp skin or something. But whatever the reason, I hope you enjoy them

Hello to anybody viewing. As you should be able to tell, I have once again made some design changes. But I am serious this time when I say, I AM keeping it this way =] I just wasn’t happy with the first rendition as it wasn’t how I originally visioned it. But now, it’s much more like my initial plans.

Alright that’s about it for now. Very short post. Speaking of posts, I’ve cleared them out again as it was mainly full of trash regarding the previous theme. Please leave your comments behind guys!

Work started on GUI Crafter

Well the domain has been sitting there for a while now and I think it’s about time I followed it through. For those of you that don’t know, www.guicrafter.com is a project of mine in which the idea is to have a store that sells GUI design elements as separate packs so developers can quickly and easily start to build their own GUI by mixing and matching packs.

As of yet, I haven’t made any progress due to other things getting in my way. But as of tomorrow, work will begin on the sites design. From then on, work will start on the CMS and I will slowly begin to add some products. I’ll make sure to keep you informed =]

*gasp* Is it true? Well, yeah! I finally registered my own birth name as a domain name. Wickeds.

Anyway, this will be my new homeground for anything about me really. My portfolio, contact info and an online blog. However, as you can see, all I have so far is a not-so-cool looking default theme. But fear not, I shall be completely retheming the site and developing it into something awesome-ish =]

So have fun browsing my pages that don’t exist yet and leave me some comments on my posts that don’t exist yet.
